If you used to read my old blog you may recall a post back in June of 2009 providing brief details on two pump tracks that the Ottawa Valley Mountain Bike Association broke gound on. Well I’m happy to report that I just received an update from Jeff Jackson of the OVMBA that the Town of Petawawa has been impressed with the use and community building effects of the tracks. So much so that they are going to provide a permanent, dedicated space, with fencing and signage for a full bike park.
Not just that but they will be having Jay Hoots design and build a full on bike park! Jay will be in town on May 1 for an open house at the pump track to get input from the community on the park. Construction is slated to begin in June.
