The IMBA Canada family has grown exponentially in the past year, and while we connect on a regular basis via phone conferencing it was time to have the first official IMBA Canada staff retreat. Hosted at the Joyride 150 indoor bike park, we spent a few days together in secret meetings discussing the upcoming 2011 season, brainstorming ideas and practicing our backflips in the foam pit. Okay, so maybe there weren’t back flips happening but we did get some fun riding in.
After our staff retreat wrapped up, the IMBA Canada staff headed to the Toronto International Bike Show held on March 4th to 6th, 2011. We were all on hand to answer questions, renew memberships and promote our organization. The bike show also played host to the Ontario’s Regional Leadership Advisory Council (RLAC) first meeting of 2011. Moderated by our Ontario representative Jason Murray, the RLAC meeting provided a platform for club representatives to discuss issues and projects affecting mountain bikers in the province. The RLAC program was launched in 2010 and is now being run in British Columbia and Ontario.
IMBA Canada’s 2011 season is now in full swing and is going to be another epic year for growth and success. Stay tuned in to our new website for all the events happening near you.
