The Mountain Bike Operations Program (MTBO) at Capilano University is currently the only program of its kind in the world. Deanne was the first female graduate of the program in 2009 and it helped her launch into her trails career. The Sunshine Coast is also world renown for its epic single track trails, hosting some big events like the BC Bike Race and of course for being the filming grounds for countless bike movies and the Beachcombers. It truly is a special place.

Thankfully the snow melted in time for us to arrive. On Friday we met with the local land manager to go over details of the project location and we managed to squeeze in a short presentation for the current students in the MTBO program. We were blessed with sunny skies for our final trailbuilding school and a few of the locals worked alongside the students to continue on a project in Kinnickinnick Park in Sechelt. The students learnt a few tricks from us and we managed to get in some final digging for the year.

We would like to thank Caroline Depatie from Capilano University for bringing us out and for feeding everyone after the build. A special mention goes to Perry from the District of Sechelt for allowing the students to hone their building skills in one of the community parks. Good luck to all the students in the MTBO program!
