After three years of heavy use and minor upgrades, the City of Toronto was ready for a detailed assessment of the formal Crothers’ Woods trails.  The purpose being to identify risk management, user experience (aka fun) and sustainability issues throughout the system that their staff could then tackle in the coming year.

To accomplish this, they brought in our resident trail specialist, Daniel Scott.  Having worked on the Crothers’ Woods with various user groups over the last two years, he has a strong understanding of the network including many of its challenges.  Three days of intensive fieldwork provided a sizeable dataset of issues and prescriptions which, once distilled and documented, will aid the City of Toronto staff in continuing their commitment to offering a fun, sustainable trail experience within the heart of the City.
