IMBA Canada is seeking an energized and creative volunteer to help us spread the love of trails and trail access across the country. Our team of staff and volunteers engage on the front lines of MTB advocacy, and we want to put your creative talents to use in telling those stories.

Social Media Coordinator (Volunteer)

Objective:

The objective of the social media coordinator role is to contribute to and assist in the development and implementation of a social media strategy to increase overall reach and program awareness. You are proficient with various social media outlets, are an avid rider, photographer and are passionate about the future of mountain biking in your community and across the country.

You have an eye for design and are comfortable using social media outlets to promote active IMBA Canada campaigns, engage the public to advocate for mountain biking and trails and increase online presence.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Develop and manage social media strategy to support IMBA Canada’s campaigns and fundraising activities, and establish targets for increasing online reach
  • Be the voice of IMBA Canada by generating content that is relevant and engaging to the IMBA Canada audience
  • Post regular updates to IMBA Canada’s social media outlets, including news articles, blog posts, press releases, fundraising appeals, and any other promotional items
  • Monitor activity and user interactions for all social media outlets
  • Adapt general IMBA Canada campaign messaging for the different outlet-specific audiences Qualifications:
  • Experience using key social media outlets Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic and creative

Time Requirements:

  • This is a volunteer position and hours are flexible.
  • This position requires a minimum 12 month commitment for an average of approximately 7 hours/week
  • Monthly Communications Team meetings and regular contact with the Communications Director
